100 Software Projects Now Preserved
The archive has just crossed 100 preserved software projects, alongside dozens of license texts and documentation entries. It’s a small number next to what actually needs preserving across the free software world, but it’s a real one, and every entry in it has mirrors, license information, and metadata recorded — not just a name in a list.
The collection spans browsers, editors, developer tooling, media applications, databases, desktop environments and more — a deliberately broad first pass rather than a narrow focus on one category. Each entry links back to its original source, its license, and, where one exists, the people and organizations behind it.
100 is a starting point, not a target. The real work now is depth: better mirrors, more automatically verified downloads, and more complete documentation on the entries that are already here.
