How to Contribute

FKPF is early-stage, and the most useful contributions right now are small, direct ones — not a long onboarding process.

Suggest Software to Preserve

If you know free or open source software that deserves a place in the archive — especially anything at risk of disappearing, such as an unmaintained project, a shrinking mirror, or documentation that only lives in one place — tell us about it.

Email [email protected] with the project name, a link to its source, and a sentence on why it matters or why it’s at risk. That’s enough for us to start looking into it.

Give Feedback on the Manifesto

FKPF’s direction is still being shaped, and the Manifesto says so directly: we would rather hear where the reasoning is wrong, incomplete, or naive now than after more has been built on top of it.

If you work with distributed systems, digital preservation, archival science, or you’ve simply thought about this problem before, your criticism is worth more to us at this stage than praise.

What's Coming

Code contributions and running a Guardian Node are both part of the plan, but neither is open yet — we’d rather finish designing them properly than open something we can’t yet support well. This page will be updated when that changes.
